Working with Riverside Theater in Iowa City has been an exciting opportunity to grow my skills in live production. From operating lighting boards to hands-on technical work, each production has taught me something new about bringing stories to life on stage.
Role: Lighting Board Operator
Working as a light board operator, I played over 200 lighting and sound cues in an integrated system, listening for that go. Lauren, the lighting designer, taught me about programming cues and understanding lighting to help me gain more hands on experience with the board. Entrusted with opening and closing the venue's technical systems, this production was exciting to work on in Iowa City.
Role: Head Electrician / Board Operator
Worked as Head Electrician for Free Shakespeare in the Park's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Read light plots, ran cables from lights hung on pipes to dimmers, programmed cues for the lighting designer, and handled sound cabling.
